Description
Overview
The Gibraltar Strap Drive Cajon Pedal Version 3 is a professional-grade hardware solution designed to transform your cajon into a foot-operated percussion instrument. By allowing players to trigger the cajon with their foot, this pedal frees up the hands for other percussion instruments or allows for a more traditional drumming posture while maintaining the organic acoustic sound of the cajon.
Key Details
- Drive Mechanism: Version 3 strap-drive system for responsive and consistent striking action.
- Build Quality: Heavy-duty construction designed for the rigors of live performance and studio use.
- Physical Footprint: Compact design measuring 17″ x 9″ x 0.55″ for easy integration into your percussion rig.
- Weight: Robust 7.19 lbs build to ensure stability and prevent sliding during aggressive play.
Use Cases
- Hybrid Percussion: Ideal for percussionists who need to play a cajon while simultaneously playing hand percussion, shakers, or a tambourine.
- Drummer Transition: Perfect for kit drummers who want to incorporate the earthy tone of a cajon into an acoustic set without sacrificing the foot-pedal workflow.
- Acoustic Gigs: A great choice for coffee house or unplugged settings where a full drum kit is too loud, but a rhythmic bass punch is still required.
Installation
The Strap Drive system is designed for straightforward setup. The pedal is positioned on the floor, and the drive strap is attached to the beater assembly, which is then secured to the playing surface of the cajon. Users should ensure the strap is tensioned correctly to achieve the desired rebound and strike velocity.
Compatibility
This pedal is designed for use with most standard cajons. Because it utilizes a strap-drive system rather than a fixed bracket, it is compatible with a wide variety of cajon sizes and brands, provided there is a suitable surface for the beater to strike.
