The Tycoon Robert Vilera Legacy Series Timbales provide percussionists with a professional-grade setup designed for authentic tone and durability. Engineered for stability and resonance, these timbales are built to meet the demands of both studio recording and live stage environments.
Key Details
- Matched Pair Configuration: Includes one 14-inch and one 15-inch timbale for a full range of melodic percussion.
- Legacy Series Build: Constructed to high standards to ensure consistent projection and a crisp, cutting attack.
- Professional Grade: Designed in collaboration with the Legacy Series specifications to provide a reliable instrument for serious percussionists.
- Physical Construction: Robust shells designed to maintain tuning stability under heavy play.
Use Cases
- Salsa and Latin Jazz: Ideal for providing the driving rhythmic foundation and sharp rimshots characteristic of Afro-Cuban music.
- Live Performance: High projection makes these timbales suitable for loud stage environments and orchestral percussion sections.
- Studio Recording: Balanced resonance allows for clean capture of both the shell tone and the high-frequency “crack” of the head.
Installation
These timbales are physical instruments that require mounting on compatible percussion stands. Setup involves placing the drums securely on the stand mounts and utilizing a drum key to tension the heads to the desired pitch. Ensure the 14″ and 15″ drums are positioned for ergonomic access based on your playing style.
Compatibility
These instruments are compatible with standard professional percussion hardware and timbale stands. They are designed for use with standard timbale heads and tuning keys.
