Description
Overview
The Latin Percussion 10″ Wood Pandeiro is a professional-grade Brazilian frame drum designed for authenticity, durability, and precise tonal control. Combining a lightweight hardwood shell with a modern synthetic head, this instrument delivers the traditional warmth of a wooden drum with the reliability of contemporary materials, ensuring consistent performance across various environments.
Key Details
- Hardwood Construction: Features a lightweight 10-inch hardwood shell that provides a resonant, organic foundation for the drum’s tone.
- Synthetic Head: Equipped with a black synthetic head that offers superior stability and resistance to weather changes compared to traditional skins.
- Precision Tuning: Utilizes a flush rim with hook-style tension rods, allowing the player to fully tune the head to their preferred pitch and tension.
- Authentic Jingles: Each set of platinellas (jingles) includes a traditional flat disc, specifically engineered to produce the authentic “chuck” sound essential for Brazilian rhythms.
- Portable Design: Comes complete with a nylon carrying bag for safe transport and storage.
Use Cases
This Pandeiro is an ideal choice for percussionists specializing in Samba, Choro, and Pagode, where the distinct contrast between the deep bass thumb hit and the sharp jingle snap is required. Its synthetic head makes it particularly useful for outdoor festivals, street parades, and touring musicians who need an instrument that maintains its tune regardless of humidity or temperature fluctuations.
Installation
This instrument arrives ready for play. To achieve the desired pitch, use a standard drum key to adjust the hook-style tension rods. Tighten the rods in a cross-pattern sequence to ensure even tension across the synthetic head. Once the desired tension is reached, the flush rim allows for comfortable hand placement and striking techniques.
Compatibility
This is a standalone physical percussion instrument. It is compatible with all standard hand-percussion playing techniques and is suitable for use in both acoustic settings and amplified studio environments.
