Use Cases
Modern Vocal Production: Ideal for R&B, Pop, and Hip Hop vocals where a “expensive,” polished, and airy top end is required to sit perfectly in a dense mix.
Detailed Acoustic Instruments: Excellent for capturing the shimmer of acoustic guitars or the complex harmonics of a piano, thanks to the high-grade Lundahl transformer.
Professional Voiceover: The clarity of the midrange makes it a powerful tool for voiceover work, providing a presence and authority that cuts through without sounding harsh.
Installation
The WA-8000 requires a dedicated external power supply unit (included) to operate the tube circuitry. Connect the microphone to the power supply using the provided 7-pin GAC-7 Gotham cable. From the power supply, connect a standard XLR cable to your microphone preamp or audio interface. Ensure the microphone is properly shocked-mounted to avoid low-frequency rumble and positioned according to the desired polar pattern for your source.
Compatibility
The Warm Audio WA-8000 is a hardware analog microphone. It is compatible with any professional audio interface, mixing console, or microphone preamp providing standard +48V phantom power (via the power supply) and XLR inputs.
