Overview
The Tycoon Bata Itotele 7″ Head is a specialized replacement drum head designed specifically for the Itotele drum within a Bata percussion set. Engineered to provide the authentic tonal characteristics required for traditional Bata drumming, this head ensures your instrument maintains its cultural resonance and rhythmic precision.
Key Details
- Precision Sizing: Specifically designed as a 7-inch diameter head to fit the Itotele drum.
- Authentic Tone: Crafted to deliver the sharp, cutting attack and traditional pitch associated with Bata percussion.
- Durable Construction: Built to withstand the high-tension tuning and rigorous striking patterns typical of traditional drumming styles.
- Lightweight Design: Weighing only 0.41 lbs, it provides a responsive playing surface without adding unnecessary mass to the shell.
Use Cases
- Traditional Performance: Ideal for musicians performing traditional Yoruba music or Afro-Cuban rhythms where the Itotele serves as the lead or high-pitched drum.
- Maintenance & Repair: A direct replacement for worn, stretched, or punctured heads to restore the original sonic profile of the instrument.
- Tonal Customization: Useful for percussionists who keep multiple heads on hand to quickly swap between different tension levels or wear cycles.
Installation
Installation involves removing the existing head and securing the new 7″ head over the bearing edge of the Itotele shell. Use the drum’s tensioning system (ropes or lugs) to gradually tighten the head in a cross-pattern to ensure even pressure across the surface. Tune to the desired high pitch characteristic of the Itotele.
Compatibility
This product is designed specifically for the Tycoon Bata Itotele drum. It is compatible with any 7-inch diameter percussion shell that matches the specifications of the Bata Itotele series.
