Description
Overview
Harness the blistering performance and precision of Trivium’s own Alex Bent for your productions. Trivium Drums delivers album-ready metal drums right out of the box, specifically engineered for the demands of dense rock and metal mixes. Expertly crafted by renowned producer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy), this virtual instrument captures the raw power and sonic clarity required for modern high-gain productions.
Recorded in the prestigious Fascination Street Studios, the library leverages a purpose-built drum room with 23-foot ceilings and no parallel surfaces, providing a natural, massive acoustic environment that cannot be replicated by software alone. Whether you need a polished, “in-the-mix” sound immediately or a raw canvas for your own processing, Trivium Drums provides the professional foundation for any heavy project.
Key Details
- Professional Engineering: Mixed and engineered by Jens Bogren to ensure sounds are punchy, clear, and ready for professional distribution.
- Dual Sonic Modes: Switch between Processed mode for an instant, polished mix and Natural mode for unprocessed sounds, giving you total control over your signal chain.
- Advanced Mixing Panel: An expandable Advanced Panel allows you to adjust individual drum mic levels, control channel bleed, add reverb, and engage a parallel compressor.
- Humanization Algorithms: Includes the proprietary Anti-Machinegun feature to add intelligent variation to fast consecutive hits, eliminating the sterile feel of programmed drums.
- Auto Double Kick: Automatically and organically distributes fast kick patterns across both kicks, mimicking the technique of a real drummer for a more natural performance.
- Extensive MIDI Library: Over 100 MIDI grooves and fills performed by Alex Bent, available for internal playback or as drag-and-drop files for your DAW.
- Multi-Format Samples: Beyond the Kontakt instrument, all shell samples are included as WAV and TCI files for use in other samplers or Slate Trigger 2.
Use Cases
- Fast Prototyping: Use the 100+ Alex Bent MIDI grooves to quickly establish a song’s energy and structure without spending hours on detailed programming.
- Metal & Rock Production: Ideal for producers needing a high-impact, aggressive drum sound that cuts through thick walls of distorted guitars.
- Drum Replacement: Utilize the included WAV and TCI files with Slate Trigger 2 to augment or completely replace lackluster recorded drums with world-class tones.
- Custom Mixing: Use “Natural” mode to treat the library as a raw multi-track recording, allowing you to apply your own EQ, compression, and saturation.
Installation
Trivium Drums is designed for a streamlined setup. The library is compatible with the free Kontakt Player, meaning you do not need a full version of Kontakt to get started. After purchase, download the library and load it via the Native Instruments Access or Kontakt interface. For those using the shell samples externally, the WAV and TCI files can be imported directly into your preferred sampler or Slate Trigger 2.
Compatibility
- Supported Operating Systems: Windows, macOS
- Plugin Host/Player: Works in the free Kontakt Player
