Description
Overview
The T-RackS Master EQ 432 is a professional-grade mastering equalizer plug-in from IK Multimedia, meticulously modeled after the “golden reference” of parametric equalization. Based on the first parametric EQ ever invented, this module recreates the sonic excellence of a legendary hardware design known for its transparency, pristine audio quality, and superior transient response.
By utilizing advanced DSP techniques, the Master EQ 432 delivers a level of sonic accuracy that transcends standard digital EQs. It combines a transformer-less signal path and discrete high-performance custom op-amps to provide a “magic” analog character while maintaining almost non-measurable non-linearities and extremely low distortion.
Key Details
- Reference Modeling: Based on the absolute standard in mastering equalizers, providing the foundation for most modern parametric EQ designs.
- Discrete Signal Path: Emulates a transformer-less design with custom op-amps for maximum transparency and pristine audio fidelity.
- Independent Band Control: Features fully parametric and totally independent bands with virtually no interaction between them.
- Enhanced Digital Workflow: Integrates analog warmth with modern conveniences including total recall and full automation.
- Switchable Gain Ranges: Combines three different hardware versions into one model, allowing users to select the optimal resolution for each band’s gain range.
Use Cases
- Professional Mastering: Ideal for final polish on a stereo mix where surgical precision and high transparency are required to maintain the integrity of the original recording.
- High-End Mixing: Perfect for shaping critical elements of a mix that require a “major league” audio quality and superior transient response.
- Transparent Tonal Shaping: Used in production and sound design sessions where the engineer needs to correct frequencies without introducing the coloring typical of standard digital EQs.
