The T-RackS De-Esser by IK Multimedia is a professional frequency-conscious dynamic processor designed to eliminate harsh sibilance and excessive high-frequency peaks. As a specialized form of frequency-dependent compression, this plug-in allows engineers to target problematic “s” sounds and piercing transients without dulling the overall tone of the audio source.
Unlike standard EQ, which removes frequencies permanently, the T-RackS De-Esser only activates when the targeted frequencies exceed a specific threshold. This ensures that the natural “air” and clarity of a recording remain intact while the distracting harshness is transparently controlled.
