Description
Overview
The Supernova Zoeldrive by Interstellar Audio Machines (IAM) is a high-performance overdrive and boost pedal designed to inject “villainous” grit and gain into your signal chain. Engineered to provide a powerful saturation that recalls the growl of classic tweed amplifiers, this pedal is built for players who need to cut through a dense mix without sacrificing the fundamental integrity of their instrument’s natural tone.
Combining a streamlined interface with sophisticated circuitry, the Zoeldrive serves as both a primary drive stage and a potent boost, ensuring your solos possess the sustain and presence required for professional live performances.
Key Details
- Tweed-Inspired Saturation: Delivers a rich, harmonic overdrive reminiscent of vintage tweed amps, blending raw power with sonic clarity.
- Three-Knob Control Suite: Features intuitive controls for Gain, Level, and Tone, allowing for precise shaping of the overdrive’s intensity and EQ profile.
- Dual Voice Toggle: Includes a dedicated voice switch providing two distinct voicing options to tailor the pedal’s response to different guitars or amplifier setups.
- Performance-Ready Design: Equipped with a heavy-duty pushbutton footswitch for seamless, “on the fly” engagement during live sets.
- Tone Preservation: Meticulously engineered to amplify gain and grit while maintaining the unique playing style and pristine integrity of your existing rig.
Use Cases
- Lead Guitar Punch: Use as a primary solo boost to add sustain and harmonic richness, allowing your leads to punch through the mix in high-volume environments.
- Vintage Amp Emulation: Dial in the gain and tone to simulate the organic breakup of a pushed vintage tweed amplifier.
- Always-On Grit: Set to a low-gain setting to add a layer of “edge” and complexity to your clean channel.
- Dynamic Tone Shaping: Utilize the voice toggle to switch between different textures depending on the song’s emotional intensity or the frequency response of your amp.
Installation
The Supernova Zoeldrive is a standard stompbox pedal designed for easy integration into any guitar signal chain. Connect your instrument to the input jack and your amplifier or next pedal to the output jack. Use the three primary knobs to establish your base tone, then engage the voice toggle to select your preferred voicing. The compact chassis allows for easy placement on standard pedalboards.
Compatibility
The Supernova Zoeldrive is compatible with all standard electric guitars and amplifiers. It is designed to work effectively as a standalone drive pedal or in conjunction with other effects pedals in a signal chain.
