Overview
The Gibraltar Small L-rod Ball is a precision-engineered percussion mounting solution designed for drummers and percussionists who require flexible, secure positioning for their accessories. Built with the durability Gibraltar is known for, this L-rod provides a stable foundation for mounting cymbals, pads, or other percussion hardware, allowing for customized kit layouts without compromising stability.
Key Details
- Precision Diameter: Features a 9.5mm rod diameter, ensuring a snug and secure fit with compatible clamps and mounts.
- Enhanced Grip: Equipped with a 4-inch knurled mounting area to prevent slippage and ensure that your hardware stays exactly where you position it.
- Robust Construction: Designed to withstand the rigors of live performance and frequent transport.
- Compact Profile: The “Small” designation makes it ideal for tight spaces where a full-sized rod would be cumbersome.
Use Cases
- Custom Percussion Rigs: Perfect for adding auxiliary percussion, such as tambourines or cowbells, to an existing stand.
- Electronic Drum Expansion: Ideal for mounting electronic pads or triggers to a hybrid acoustic/electronic setup.
- Cymbal Positioning: Useful for positioning small splash cymbals or effects cymbals at specific angles for easier reach.
Installation
Installation is straightforward and tool-free for most setups. Simply insert the 9.5mm rod into a compatible Gibraltar clamp or mounting bracket. Once inserted, slide the accessory onto the rod and tighten the clamp to lock the L-rod in place. The 4-inch knurled section provides the necessary friction to hold your hardware securely once the accessory’s own wingnut or locking mechanism is tightened.
Compatibility
This L-rod is compatible with any percussion hardware, clamps, or mounts designed to accept a 9.5mm diameter rod. It is specifically optimized for use with Gibraltar’s extensive line of mounting hardware and clamps.
