Description
Overview
The SlapKlatz Pro Refillz provide a professional-grade solution for drummers seeking precise control over their instrument’s resonance. These high-performance gel dampeners are engineered to eliminate unwanted ring and harsh overtones from drums and cymbals without compromising the natural tone or the tactile playing feel of the head.
Developed with a focus on versatility and adhesion, SlapKlatz gels are designed to stay exactly where they are placed, whether on the top head, the bottom head, or even the underside of cymbals. This allows for rapid fine-tuning of your sound in a matter of seconds, making it an essential tool for both studio recording and live performance environments.
Key Details
- High-Adhesion Material: Specifically developed gel that ensures the dampeners remain secure regardless of placement or vibration.
- Tone Preservation: Effectively removes ringing and overtones while maintaining the core character and punch of the drum.
- Washable & Reusable: Gels can be cleaned with soap and water (air dry only) to restore their adhesive properties.
- Professional Pedigree: Trusted and used by world-renowned drummers including Benny Greb, John JR Robinson, Tony Royster Jr., Anika Nilles, and Gergo Borlai.
- Refill Pack: This specific Refillz edition contains 12 pink gel pads (case not included).
Use Cases
- Studio Recording: Quickly dial in a “dry” snare or tom sound to reduce bleed and cleanup the mix without needing heavy external muffling.
- Live Performance: Control the acoustics of a boomy room by adding dampening to toms and snare drums on the fly.
- Cymbal Control: Apply to the underside of cymbals to shorten decay and reduce excessive wash.
- Bottom Head Tuning: Securely attach to the resonant head to tighten the focus of the drum’s pitch.
Installation
Installation is instantaneous and non-permanent. Simply peel a gel pad from the sheet and place it directly onto the drum head or cymbal surface. You can easily remove, slide, or re-adjust the position of the gel to fine-tune the dampening effect. For maximum effectiveness, experiment with different positions on the head to find the ideal balance between sustain and control.
Compatibility
The SlapKlatz Pro Refillz are universally compatible with all types of drums and cymbals, including:
- Drum Types: Snare drums, rack toms, floor toms, and bass drums.
- Head Materials: Compatible with coated and clear drum heads.
