What Stands Out
Key Details
- Authentic Material: Constructed from high-quality calfskin to deliver a natural, organic sound profile.
- Precision Sizing: Specifically engineered as an 11-inch diameter head to ensure a proper fit for Signature Series Quinto drums.
- Tonal Quality: Offers the deep, punchy lows and clear high-end snap associated with traditional animal hide heads.
- Durable Build: Designed to withstand the rigors of regular play while maintaining stable tuning.
Best For
Use Cases
- Traditional Latin Ensembles: Ideal for percussionists seeking the authentic “earthy” sound of calfskin in Salsa, Mambo, or Rumba settings.
- Studio Recording: Provides a warmer, more complex harmonic spectrum than synthetic heads, making it a preferred choice for high-fidelity recordings.
- Maintenance & Restoration: The perfect solution for replacing worn-out or punctured heads on Tycoon Signature Series Quinto drums to restore original factory performance.
Setup Notes
Installation
To install the replacement head, loosen the tension rods of your Quinto until the existing head can be removed. Place the new calfskin head centered over the bearing edge. Gradually tighten the tuning lugs in a cross-pattern (star pattern) to ensure even tension across the skin. Note: Because calfskin is a natural material, it may require periodic tuning adjustments based on changes in humidity and temperature.
