Overview
The Gibraltar Sidekick Essentials Station is a professional, low-profile accessory solution designed specifically for drummers who need a stable, accessible surface for their critical gear. This slim station combines a durable wood tabletop with a versatile low-boy tripod stand, providing a dedicated space for mixers, electronics, tablets, or other essential percussion accessories without cluttering the playing area.
Key Details
- Protective Surface: The 16″ x 10″ wood tabletop is lined with soft black felt to prevent scratches and protect sensitive electronics from surface damage.
- Secure Edge Design: Features a protective edge lip on three sides to prevent gear from sliding off during high-energy performances.
- Open Access: The player’s side remains open, allowing for the placement of oversized mixers or percussion accessories that extend beyond the table edge.
- Adjustable Height: The lightweight tripod base is fully adjustable, with a height range from 14-1/2″ to 22-1/2″ to suit various seating positions and kit configurations.
- Robust Mounting: Includes a 7/8″ mount on the underside of the table for secure attachment to the stand.
Use Cases
- Electronic Integration: Ideal for holding small mixers, audio interfaces, or percussion pads within arm’s reach.
- Digital Sheet Music: Provides a stable platform for tablets or smartphones used for charts and setlists.
- Percussion Expansion: Perfect for holding small hand percussion instruments, shakers, or tambourines for quick access during a song.
- Discreet Placement: Designed to be positioned next to the hi-hat stand for a low-profile look that doesn’t obstruct the drummer’s movement.
Installation
Setup is straightforward and designed for rapid deployment. The wood tabletop attaches to the low-profile tripod via the integrated 7/8″ underside mount. Once attached, the tripod legs can be deployed and the height adjusted using the central locking mechanism to reach the desired height between 14-1/2″ and 22-1/2″. The lightweight construction ensures the station can be easily transported and integrated into a mobile rig.
Compatibility
The Sidekick Essentials Station is compatible with any standard drumming environment. Its open-front design ensures compatibility with electronics that exceed the 10″ depth of the table. The 7/8″ mounting system is standard for this series of Gibraltar accessory stands.
