Description
Overview
The Power 5B Wood Drum Sticks by Vater Percussion are engineered for drummers who require the substantial feel of a 5B stick but need additional reach and leverage. Positioned as the “big brother” to the Power 5A, these sticks maintain a familiar grip diameter while adding a half-inch of extra length to the shaft.
Crafted from premium American Hickory, these sticks are designed to withstand high-impact playing while providing the necessary shock absorption to reduce fatigue during long sessions. Whether you are playing heavy rock, loud ensemble work, or studio recordings, the Power 5B delivers a powerful strike and enhanced projection.
Key Details
- Extended Reach: Features a half-inch increase in length compared to standard 5B sticks for added leverage and power.
- Premium American Hickory: Constructed using Shellbark and Shagbark Hickory, the industry standard for durability and shock absorption.
- Precision Moisture Control: Dowels are maintained at a strict 10%-12% moisture content, specifically optimized for striking tools to ensure consistent feel and longevity.
- Balanced Weight: Designed to provide a heavy-hitting profile without sacrificing the balance required for technical playing.
Use Cases
- High-Volume Performance: Ideal for rock, metal, and gospel drummers who need to cut through dense mixes and loud amplification.
- Large Kit Configurations: The extra length is particularly useful for drummers with expansive setups who need to reach distant crashes or ride cymbals.
- Heavy Hitting: Perfect for players who prefer a thicker stick for maximum volume but want the added velocity provided by a longer shaft.
Installation
No installation is required. These sticks are ready for immediate use. For optimal longevity, it is recommended to rotate sticks regularly and store them in a dry environment to maintain the integrity of the hickory wood.
Compatibility
These sticks are compatible with all standard acoustic drum kits, including snare drums, tom-toms, and a wide variety of cymbals. They are suitable for all genres of music and skill levels, from beginners looking for more power to professional touring musicians.
