Description
Overview
The Tycoon Percussion Plenera Set is a professional-grade collection of frame drums originating from the rich musical traditions of Puerto Rico. Specifically designed for Plena music, this set provides the essential tonal range required to perform authentic rhythms. By providing three distinct drum sizes, the set allows a single percussionist to cover the full spectrum of the Plena ensemble, from deep foundational beats to high-pitched improvisational solos.
Key Details
- Durable Construction: Shells are crafted from high-strength ABS plastic, ensuring the instruments can withstand the rigors of live performance and travel without compromising structural integrity.
- Authentic Tonal Quality: Each drum features hand-picked natural goat skin heads, selected to provide the organic warmth and tonal diversity characteristic of traditional Puerto Rican percussion.
- Complete Three-Drum Array: The set includes three specific diameters to fulfill traditional roles:
- 8″ (Primo/Requinto): The smallest drum, primarily utilized for lead parts and improvisational solos.
- 10″ (Segundo/Seguidor): The middle drum, used to maintain steady, supporting rhythms.
- 12″ (Tercero/Bajo): The largest drum, providing the deep, rhythmic foundation for the ensemble.
- Precision Tuning: The set is fully tunable to allow players to dial in their preferred pitch and tension; a dedicated tuning wrench is included.
- Portable Storage: Comes with a durable nylon carrying case to protect the instruments during transport.
