Description
Overview
The Patriot Instinct SB Mod Shop Duncan by Michael Kelly Guitar Co. is engineered for players who demand a massive sound without the physical burden of a traditional heavy body. Featuring a specialized 1.25″ (31.75mm) slim body design, this instrument significantly reduces weight to prevent fatigue during long performances while maintaining the resonance and punch of a full-sized electric guitar.
Combining high-end aesthetics with professional-grade electronics, this single-cutaway guitar features a high-gloss AAA quilted maple top and a solid mahogany core. The result is a visually stunning instrument that delivers a balanced, clear tone with the warmth and sustain expected from premium mahogany construction.
Key Details
- Slim Body Architecture: A reduced 1.25″ body depth provides a lightweight feel that is easier on the back without sacrificing tonal depth.
- Premium Tonewoods: Solid mahogany body and neck paired with a high-gloss AAA quilted maple top for a rich, harmonic-rich sound.
- Seymour Duncan® Electronics: Equipped with two JB Model™ humbuckers, renowned for high-output punch, crisp highs, and a mid-range bump that enhances sustain.
- Great 8 Mod Versatility: A sophisticated switching system featuring a 3-way pickup selector and dual mini toggle coil-split switches, allowing for a wide array of humbucking and single-coil tones.
- High-Performance Hardware: Grover® tuners and a Tune-O-Matic bridge with a string-thru body design ensure rock-solid intonation and maximum vibration transfer.
- Player-Centric Neck: Mahogany neck with a modern “C” profile and a contoured heel for effortless access to the upper frets.
Use Cases
- Live Performance: Ideal for touring musicians and stage performers who need a lightweight instrument for long sets without compromising on volume or tone.
- High-Gain Rock & Metal: The Seymour Duncan JB pickups provide the necessary output and harmonic saturation for distorted lead work and heavy rhythm sections.
- Studio Recording: The “Great 8 Mod” coil-splitting allows producers to dial in everything from thick, creamy humbucker tones to thin, biting single-coil sounds within a single track.
- Stage Presence: The AAA quilted maple top and pearl/abalone inlays make this a visually striking centerpiece for any performance.
