Description
Overview
The Patriot Decree SB Open Pore by Michael Kelly Guitar Co. is a high-performance single-cutaway electric guitar designed for players who demand a boutique aesthetic and professional tone without the bulk of a traditional heavy body. Featuring a thin, lightweight body design, this instrument maximizes comfort and playability while delivering a massive sonic footprint.
The guitar is defined by its striking open pore texture and satin finish, which are specifically engineered to enhance natural resonance. By pairing an exotic sungkai tonewood top with a slim mahogany body, the Patriot Decree achieves a distinctly clear, resonant sound that balances warmth with punchy articulation.
Key Details
- Premium Tonewoods: A mahogany body provides a rich foundation of warmth and punch, accentuating the mids and highs, while the sungkai top adds clarity and brilliance.
- High-Performance Neck: The set-in mahogany neck features a modern C shape and a contoured heel, ensuring effortless access to the upper register.
- Ebony Fingerboard: Equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets, the ebony board produces a bright, snappy tone and facilitates fluid lead lines.
- Rockfield® Electronics: Loaded with two Select Wound Custom (SWC) humbuckers for powerful, high-fidelity output.
- Great 8 Mod: A versatile switching system featuring a 3-way pickup selector and two mini toggle switches for coil-splitting, providing eight unique sonic configurations.
- Professional Hardware: Outfitted with Grover® tuners for rock-solid stability and a Tune-O-Matic bridge with a string-thru body design for enhanced sustain.
Use Cases
- Live Performance: The lightweight, slim body reduces shoulder fatigue during long sets on stage without sacrificing the sustain of a full-sized guitar.
- Studio Recording: The “Great 8 Mod” allows engineers and players to quickly dial in everything from thick, humming rhythms to thin, glassy single-coil cleans.
- Genre Versatility: Ideal for rock, blues, and jazz players who need a reliable instrument capable of transitioning from heavy saturation to crystalline clarity.
