Key Details
- Authentic Material: Constructed from natural, unbleached goatskin for a traditional sound and organic feel.
- Optimized Size: Specifically engineered for 9-inch diameter Dancing Drums.
- Natural Finish: The unbleached surface ensures a raw, authentic aesthetic and response.
- Durable Build: Designed to withstand the tension and impact of rhythmic performance.
Use Cases
This replacement head is ideal for percussionists who require a traditional acoustic response. It is specifically suited for:
- Restoration: Replacing worn, stretched, or punctured heads on 9″ Dancing Drums to restore original factory tone.
- Tonal Customization: Switching to a natural skin head to achieve a warmer, earthier sound compared to synthetic alternatives.
- World Music Performance: Providing the authentic timbre required for traditional folk, tribal, and ceremonial drumming.
Installation
This is an untucked replacement head. Installation involves placing the skin over the drum shell and securing it using the drum’s existing tensioning system. Because natural skins are sensitive to environmental changes, it is recommended to ensure the skin is centered and tensioned evenly to avoid warping and to achieve the desired pitch.
