Description
Overview
The Nano Deluxe Memory Man brings the legendary, lush sound of the benchmark large-format Deluxe Memory Man into a compact, pedalboard-ready chassis. For over 44 years, the Deluxe Memory Man has served as the gold standard for analog delay and modulation; this nano version preserves that sonic heritage while adding modern control enhancements. It delivers the unmistakably warm analog delay, chorus, and vibrato that professional guitarists have relied on for decades, now scaled down for maximum portability without sacrificing tonal depth.
Key Details
- Analog Delay Engine: Delivers authentic, warm echoes with adjustable delay times ranging from 30ms up to 550ms.
- Enhanced Modulation: Features dedicated Rate and Depth knobs, providing precise control over the amount and speed of modulation to create rich chorus and vibrato effects.
- Feedback Control: The Feedback knob allows for a wide range of repeats, from a single slapback to intense, runaway oscillation.
- Signal Management: Includes a Level knob for adjustable input gain and a dedicated Overload LED that alerts the user when the signal entering the analog delay block is too hot.
- Blend Control: A dedicated Blend knob provides seamless wet/dry mix control over the dry signal and the delayed repeats.
- Tails Functionality: An internal user-accessible switch allows you to choose between natural decay (tails on) when bypassing or instant muting (tails off).
Use Cases
- Atmospheric Textures: Use high Depth and slow Rate settings to create shimmering, ethereal soundscapes and lush chorus washes.
- Classic Lead Tones: Set a moderate delay time with a touch of modulation to add thickness and dimension to guitar solos.
- Experimental Noise: Crank the Feedback knob to achieve self-oscillation for avant-garde textures and sonic swells.
- Rhythmic Slapback: Dial in short delay times (30ms range) for classic rockabilly or country-style rhythmic echoes.
Installation
The Nano Deluxe Memory Man is designed for easy integration into any signal chain. Simply place the pedal on your board and connect your instrument to the input and your amplifier to the output. The pedal is true bypass when the internal tails feature is switched off, ensuring your dry signal remains untouched when the effect is inactive. It is powered by a standard 9V power supply, which is included with the unit.
Compatibility
This pedal is compatible with any standard electric guitar, bass, or keyboard signal chain. It is designed to work with standard 1/4″ TS instrument cables and requires a 9V DC power source (included).
