Description
Overview
The Electro-Harmonix Memory Toy is a professional-grade analog delay pedal designed to provide organic depth and sonic dimension to your instrument. Combining heritage circuitry with select modern components, this pedal delivers the warm, rich character associated with classic analog echoes, ensuring your signal is bathed in a natural, lush atmosphere rather than a sterile digital reproduction.
Key Details
- True Analog Circuitry: Delivers a warm, organic delay tone that blends seamlessly with your original signal.
- Extended Delay Time: Offers up to 550ms of delay, providing ample room for everything from tight slapbacks to sweeping ambient washes.
- Integrated Modulation: Features a dedicated Modulation switch that adds a lush chorus effect to the delayed repeats for added movement and shimmer.
- Feedback Control: Precise control over the number of repeats, allowing for subtle echoes or self-oscillating sonic textures.
Use Cases
The Memory Toy is versatile enough for a wide range of musical applications:
- Ambient Soundscapes: Use the high delay settings and modulation to create ethereal, floating textures.
- Classic Rock & Blues: Dial in a short delay time for a traditional slapback echo that adds thickness to lead lines.
- Psychedelic Effects: Crank the feedback and engage modulation to create swirling, disorienting soundscapes and rhythmic oscillations.
- Adding Depth: Use a low mix setting to add a subtle sense of space and dimension to your overall guitar tone without washing out the dry signal.
Installation
The Memory Toy is a stompbox pedal designed for easy integration into any signal chain. Simply place the pedal between your instrument and your amplifier or into an effects loop. It is powered via a standard battery (included) or a compatible DC power supply. Use the top-mounted knobs to dial in your desired delay time, feedback, and mix levels.
Compatibility
This pedal is compatible with any instrument that produces an electrical signal, including electric guitars, basses, and synthesizers. It can be used in conjunction with any standard amplifier or pedalboard setup.
