Product Overview
Overview
The RTOM LV Mesh 22″ Practice Head is a professional-grade, low-volume solution designed to transform your acoustic bass drum into a quiet practice instrument. Unlike standard mesh heads, the LV series is engineered to bridge the gap between silent practice and the tactile response of a real drumhead, allowing drummers to maintain their technique without disturbing neighbors or roommates.
What Stands Out
Key Details
- Enhanced Realism: Features a specially designed sound patch at the center of the head, which provides a more audible attack and a response that closely mimics the feel of a traditional acoustic head.
- Industrial Durability: Constructed from heavy-duty mesh material, similar to the renowned Black Hole Practice System, ensuring the head stands up to a lifetime of rigorous, serious practice.
- Low-Volume Performance: Specifically engineered to drastically reduce the decibel output of your kit while maintaining the physical rebound required for technical playing.
- Budget-Friendly Integration: Offers a high-quality, professional practice solution for drummers looking to outfit their entire kit without the cost of a full electronic conversion.
Best For
Use Cases
- Home Practice: Ideal for apartment dwellers or those in noise-sensitive environments who need to practice their bass drum footwork without high volume.
- Late-Night Sessions: Allows for full-kit practice during hours when acoustic drumming is prohibited.
- Technique Development: Perfect for drummers focusing on pedal control and speed who require a realistic rebound and attack.
Setup Notes
Installation
Installation is straightforward and requires no permanent modifications to your drum. Simply remove your existing acoustic bass drum head and replace it with the RTOM LV Mesh Head. Secure the head using your existing tension rods and hoops, tuning to your preferred tension for the desired rebound response.
