Description
Overview
The RTOM LV Mesh 16″ Practice Head is a professional-grade, low-volume solution designed to transform your acoustic drum kit into a quiet practice station without sacrificing the feel of a real instrument. Unlike standard mesh heads, the LV Mesh series incorporates a specially designed sound patch at the center of the head, which significantly enhances the realism of the response and provides a more audible attack, allowing you to maintain your timing and technique while keeping noise levels to a minimum.
Key Details
- Realistic Response: Features an integrated center sound patch that mimics the rebound and attack of a traditional drumhead.
- Heavy-Duty Construction: Built with high-density mesh material engineered for unparalleled durability and long-term resilience.
- Low-Volume Performance: Drastically reduces the decibel output of acoustic drums, making it ideal for home practice, apartments, or late-night sessions.
- Professional Grade: Utilizes the same heavy-duty mesh standards found in the renowned Black Hole Practice System.
Use Cases
- Home Studio Practice: Perfect for drummers who need to practice in noise-sensitive environments without disturbing neighbors or family.
- Technique Development: The realistic rebound provided by the sound patch makes this an excellent tool for working on rudiments and speed.
- Budget-Friendly Conversion: An ideal choice for players looking to outfit their entire acoustic kit with a high-quality, low-volume system without purchasing a full electronic kit.
Installation
Installation is straightforward and requires no specialized tools. Simply remove your existing acoustic drumhead and place the RTOM LV Mesh Head over the bearing edge of the shell. Secure the head using your existing tension rods and lugs, tuning to your preferred tension for the desired amount of rebound.
Compatibility
This practice head is compatible with any standard acoustic drum or tom-tom with a 16-inch diameter. It is designed to fit standard drum shells and can be used with existing hardware.
