Introducing Icon Drums Classic Rock—the ultimate drum library for musicians and producers who demand the best drums for that Classic or even Modern Rock sound.

Recorded in a world-class studio with legendary equipment, these samples deliver the punch, warmth, and character that define rock’s golden era. Transform your tracks with the timeless energy and tone of iconic drummers. For classic and modern rock alike, the human feel of real drums is absolutely critical. Slight fluctuations in timing, dynamic nuances in each drum hit, and the natural resonance spilling into open mics—all those elements define the classic rock sound that fans still love. Icon Drums Classic Rock was created to capture every bit of that unmistakable, live drum vibe—without ever feeling sterile or robotic.

One standout feature is the “Full Bleed” feature, which meticulously reproduces the natural spill between microphones and drum pieces. In a real drum session, the snare might subtly bleed into the overheads, and the toms might color the room mics. That bleed is part of the magic that makes live drums sound cohesive and exciting. Unlike many drum libraries that isolate each hit so precisely it feels lifeless, Icon Drums Classic Rock uses Bleed to reintroduce that organic sense of space and interaction between drums.

To achieve this, we sampled not just multiple velocity layers and round-robins, but also the natural reflections of a well-tuned kit in a classic studio environment, capturing the exact way each drum resonates across different mics. This means every note you play is nuanced and feels truly “alive,” just as if you were in the room with a real drummer behind a vintage kit. Every piece of Icon Drums Classic Rock is tweakable so that you can take the raw drums we engineered and make them perfect for your music. You don’t need any extra plugins, as Icon comes with a complete mixer. Each channel has EQ, compression, a transient designer, and saturation. We even made sure to include reverb. No corners were cut creating Icon Drums Classic Rock.

Aside from selecting top-of-the-line drums, we made sure to use the industry-standard microphones and mic-pres you would expect of a serious drum recording. We also captured the famous Glyn Johns overhead microphone technique to achieve that classic, overall kit sound. This technique can be heard on many of the projects he engineered, from the Kinks, the Who, to Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones. Additionally, you can load your own Kick or Snare one-shot samples right into Icon to make the most out of your drum sound. We even included a bunch of processed one-shots right in Icon itself that you can choose from.

Finally, Icon Drums Classic Rock will work well with your electronic drum kit and if you need to make some tweaks, MIDI remapping is quick and easy.
