No other drum library allows you to have full drum kit bleed on ALL mics. What does full drum kit bleed mean? For example, other virtual drum libraries out there do NOT give you the audio of snare or kick hits that “bleed” or are picked up into all the other mics on the kit, like the Toms or HiHat mics. They do this to significantly cut down on the size of the sample library and also to make it easier to run on older computers. But just think about it for a minute. That’s not how real drums get recorded and mixed when you do it for real at a studio. This is a big part of why people sometimes say programmed drums don’t sound real. The Mic Bleed that would naturally be there is missing. And we give you full control to add as much or as little of it as you want on the entire kit. On top of this, Icon Classic Rock has a ridiculous number of dynamic layers, which means your ghost notes and rimshots will actually bring dynamic qualities into your music. Also, so many round robins that make even the fastest drum parts sound natural and varied. Tons of musical articulations that are useful so that you can create realistic hi-hat patterns, snare rudiments, and more. Whether you need to smack that snare for an energetic rock track, or you need to be quiet and expressive, ICON can do it all. Fully Featured Built-In Mixing Options Sometimes you’re just in the moment, your creative juices are flowing and the slightest distraction could ruin it all… we made sure that ICON had everything you needed on the spot so you can concentrate on your music instead of inserting a bunch of extra plugins. The built-in mixer allows you to adjust individual drum elements—like kick, snare, toms, and cymbals—directly within the plugin or software interface. This streamlines your workflow by eliminating the need to route each drum to separate channels in your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Every channel has a built-in channel strip that includes: Two EQ types Saturation 1176-Style compression Transient designer ADSR controls Two reverb sends (Non-Linear or Plate) However, there is also a “Master” section on this new built-in mixer page where you can give your drums the final polish it needs. Reverb controls Instead of needing to load in extra plugins to tweak your sound, just use the massive, built-in mixer in ICON! You literally don’t need anything else to craft your perfect rock drum sound. Integrated MIDI Groove Player It’s the elephant in the room that nobody wants to talk about, we get it. Programming drums can be a terribly long, boring, and unfulfilling process. Instead of needing to get a degree in drum programming, we figured it easier to give you amazing, high quality, and totally usable MIDI grooves tha Icon Drums Classic Rock has been captured in a world-class studio, and comes loaded with everything users need to craft their ideal mix-ready drum sounds. The company say that no corners were cut in the making of the library, capturing high-end drums from the likes of Pearl and Ludwig alongside Zildjian, Sabian and TRX hi-hats and cymbals. Users are offered a choice of two kick drums and three snares, and it’s possible to load in custom one-shot kick and snare samples to augment the built-in options. The library also offers signals created using the Glyn Johns overhead microphone technique, mimicking the sound that can be heard on classic tracks by the likes of The Kinks, The Who, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. Realism was a key focus when developing the library, so along with what the company describe as a “ridiculous number” of dynamic layers, Icon Drums Classic Rock also benefits from a large selection of round robins that promise to deliver authentic-sounding results even with fast, repeating hits. Another standout feature is the inclusion of full mic bleed signals for every kit piece, something that many libraries exclude in order to save on disk space and processing power. A healthy selection of articulations are included, making it possible to program realistic hi-hat patterns, snare rudiments and so on. The library’s built-in mixer is equally comprehensive, and comes packed with all of the tools needed to craft a final drum sound. Every mic signal is available on its own channel strip that offer a choice of two EQs, saturation, 1176-style compression, a transient designer, an ADSR envelope and a pair of sends that feed non-linear and plate reverb effects. There’s also a dedicated master section that houses a Pultec-style EQ, SSL-inspired bus compression, tape saturation and master reverb controls. There’s an onboard MIDI groove player that comes complete with a range of grooves p
