Overview
The IC5EQ by Ice Audio is a versatile equalization plugin designed to provide both modern precision and classic analog warmth. By combining a musical 4-band graphic EQ with a global tilt filter and tape-inspired saturation, it allows producers and engineers to easily shape the color and contour of their audio signals.
What Stands Out
Key Details
- 4-Band Graphic EQ: Features two bell filters and two shelf filters, each meticulously tuned to provide a musical curve that enhances audio without introducing harsh artifacts.
- Analog Mode: Includes a dedicated color knob inspired by vintage tape machines, allowing you to add harmonic saturation and an analog touch to digital recordings.
- Global Tilt Filter: A specialized tilt-type filter operates across the entire soundtrack, providing a fast way to balance the overall brightness or darkness of a signal.
- Hybrid Workflow: Combines the surgical capabilities of a graphic EQ with the creative modeling of a tilt filter and analog drive for a unique sonic signature.
Best For
Use Cases
- Tonal Balancing: Use the Tilt filter to quickly shift the spectral balance of a mix or individual track toward a “darker” or “brighter” feel.
- Instrument Shaping: Utilize the bell and shelf filters to carve out space for vocals or add weight to a kick drum and bass guitar.
- Adding Character: Engage the Analog mode on clean digital sources to introduce tape-like warmth and saturation.
- Final Polish: Apply the IC5EQ on a master bus to add a final layer of musical modeling and cohesive color.
