Description
Overview
The Innovative Percussion Hard Marimba Mallets from the Sandi Rennick Series are precision-engineered tools designed for maximum clarity and projection. Developed in collaboration with the Front Ensemble Arranger for the 9-time DCI World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard, these mallets are specifically tailored to meet the rigorous demands of modern percussion performance.
Featuring a unique construction with smaller, specifically weighted cores, these mallets shift the center of gravity toward the player’s hand. This design ensures the instrument speaks rapidly and with a focused tone, making them an ideal choice for complex passages and high-volume environments.
Key Details
- Sandi Rennick Series Design: Engineered for a more focused sound profile and faster response time.
- Optimized Weight Distribution: Smaller, uniquely weighted cores put more weight in the player’s hands for enhanced control.
- Premium Birch Handles: Constructed with high-quality birch and finished with a matte coating for a secure, comfortable grip.
- Durable Synthetic Wrap: Wrapped in a sage green synthetic blend yarn designed to withstand the harsh environmental conditions typical of marching arts and outdoor performances.
- Amplification Ready: Specifically designed to cut through the mix and perform exceptionally well within amplified keyboard sections.
Use Cases
- DCI and Marching Arts: Ideal for front ensemble performers who require durability and high projection during outdoor competitions.
- Amplified Ensembles: Perfect for settings where marimbas are amplified, as the focused core prevents muddy tones.
- Fast Technical Passages: The shifted weight distribution allows for quicker articulation and rapid-fire mallet movement.
- Professional Concert Use: Suitable for percussionists seeking a “hard” mallet response with a refined, professional finish.
Installation
These mallets are ready for immediate use upon delivery. No assembly or installation is required. To maintain the longevity of the synthetic wrap and birch handles, it is recommended to store them in a protective mallet bag when not in use.
Compatibility
These mallets are compatible with all standard marimbas. They are specifically optimized for use in marching percussion front ensembles and amplified keyboard setups.
