Description
Overview
The Gibraltar Felt Beater Long Shaft (Model SC-3259) is a professional-grade replacement beater designed for drummers seeking a specific balance of power and precision. Featuring a high-quality felt head and an extended shaft, this beater is engineered to enhance the physical dynamics of your bass drum performance.
Key Details
- Extended Shaft Design: The longer shaft provides a different leverage point compared to standard beaters, allowing for a greater velocity range and increased striking power.
- Premium Felt Head: The black felt construction delivers a traditional, warm attack with a smooth punch, ideal for a wide variety of musical genres.
- Durable Build: Constructed by Gibraltar to withstand the rigors of heavy hitting and frequent touring.
- Compact Profile: Weighs only 0.25 lbs, ensuring that the added length does not create unnecessary drag or sluggishness in the pedal response.
Use Cases
- Dynamic Range Expansion: Ideal for players who need a wider range of volume and velocity, from subtle ghost notes to heavy, driving accents.
- Tone Shaping: Perfect for drummers who prefer the softer, more rounded “thump” of felt over the aggressive click of plastic or wood beaters.
- Custom Pedal Setup: A great choice for drummers looking to adjust the distance between the pedal cam and the drum head for a specific feel.
Installation
Installation is straightforward and requires no specialized tools. Simply remove your existing beater from the pedal beater holder and slide the Gibraltar Long Shaft Beater into the slot. Ensure the beater is tightened securely using the pedal’s locking mechanism to prevent slipping during play.
Compatibility
This beater is designed to fit in most standard bass drum pedals. It is compatible with universal beater holders that accept standard shaft diameters.
