Description

Product Overview

Overview

The Gas 4×12 K100 SuperCabinet IR Library by Overloud is a professional-grade Impulse Response collection developed in collaboration with Choptones. This library is a meticulous capture of a Diezel 4×12 cabinet equipped with Celestion G12-K100 speakers, designed specifically for guitarists and producers seeking a powerful, modern high-gain sound.

Constructed from solid African Okoume with a straight front and closed back, this cabinet is renowned for its tight low-end and massive tonal presence. The G12-K100 speakers feature enormous magnets that deliver a focused mid-range and a contemporary top-end, making this library ideal for heavy, modern productions that require a “huge” sonic footprint.

What Stands Out

Key Details

  • Extensive Capture Set: Includes over 300 IRs created using a systematic approach with 12 different microphones.
  • Precision Positioning: Captures were performed using a motorized mic stand for absolute consistency, covering four horizontal positions (Cap, Cap Edge, Cone, and Cone Edge) and two different distances.
  • Advanced Mic Selection: Features a wide array of industry-standard microphones including:
    • Audio Technica 2035
    • Beyerdynamic M160
    • Electrovoice RE20
    • Sennheiser MD21, MD421, and MD441
  • Premium Signal Chain: Every measurement set was recorded twice using two distinct high-end preamps: a Neve 1073 and a specialized German preamp.
  • Flexible Workflow: Supports graphical IR browsing, blending of multiple IRs for custom stereo tones, and a unique Multiband mode for composing new cabinet characteristics.
Best For

Use Cases

  • Modern Metal & High Gain: Perfect for djent, modern metalcore, and hard rock where a massive bottom end and tight, focused mids are essential.
  • Custom Tone Shaping: Use the blending capabilities within SuperCabinet to merge different microphone characteristics for a unique signature sound.
  • Hardware Integration: Export your crafted IRs in .wav format to use them with your favorite hardware modelers or third-party software IR loaders.
