Description
Overview
The Vater Extended Play Series 5B Nylon Tip Drumsticks represent a significant innovation in percussion durability. Developed by the Vater R&D team over 14 months of rigorous testing, these sticks are engineered specifically to eliminate premature breakage caused by wear in the rimshot area. By combining the natural balance and feel of premium hickory with advanced protective materials, the Extended Play series allows drummers to perform longer and harder without the constant worry of stick fatigue.
Key Details
- Stick Shield Technology: Features an exclusive 3-inch “Stick Shield” located precisely in the rimshot area. This impact-resistant reinforcement is 8X stronger than steel with maximum tensile strength to prevent rimshot breakage.
- Enhanced Tip Protection: Coated with a pearl-colored, specially formulated durable finish that protects the tip and shoulder area from early chipping and cracking.
- Premium Hickory Core: Maintains the optimal balance, weight, and organic feel characteristic of professional Vater hickory sticks.
- Consistent Grip: The grip area retains the same high-quality, comfortable finish found across the standard Vater product line for a familiar hand-feel.
- Nylon Tip: Equipped with a nylon tip for a distinct, articulated attack and increased longevity on cymbal surfaces.
Use Cases
- Heavy Hitters: Ideal for drummers who utilize frequent, aggressive rimshots that typically shred through standard wooden sticks.
- Live Performance: Perfect for touring musicians who need reliable gear that can withstand high-intensity sets without mid-show failure.
- Studio Recording: Great for percussionists seeking the consistent rebound of a 5B stick with the added clarity of a nylon tip for cymbal work.

No installation or assembly is required. These sticks are ready for immediate use upon removal from the packaging.
