Description
Overview
Eloy Drums is a powerhouse virtual instrument library that captures the unrelenting energy and musicality of world-renowned drummer Eloy Casagrande. Developed in collaboration with producer Jens Bogren, this library blends Eloy’s aggressive drumming style with world-class engineering to deliver a kit that is larger than life. Recorded at the legendary Fascination Street Studios—a purpose-built room with 23-foot ceilings and no parallel surfaces—this library provides a professional, high-impact sonic foundation for any production.
Key Details
- Dual Kit Configurations: Includes a massive, grit-filled setup inspired by Eloy’s work with Slipknot, as well as an intimate, stripped-back setup reflecting his roots in São Paulo and influence from Sepultura.
- Integrated Studio Mixer: All sounds are mixed exclusively inside Kontakt, featuring a fully customizable mixer with studio-grade compression, EQ, transient shaping, and saturation modules utilizing vintage FET circuits and hardware tape machine emulation.
- Advanced Performance Algorithms: Features an Anti-machinegun algorithm to add natural variation to fast consecutive hits and Auto Double Kick to automatically alternate between two different kick drums/pedals during rapid runs.
- Eloy’s Signature Grooves: Over 150 MIDI grooves and fills performed by Eloy Casagrande himself, available via drag-and-drop for instant professional arrangements.
- Hybrid Triggering: Dedicated trigger channels for kicks and snares allow you to blend hand-picked samples from the Jens Bogren Signature Drum Samples pack or your own custom one-shots directly within the instrument.
Use Cases
- Modern Metal & Hard Rock: Perfect for producers needing the aggressive, high-velocity sound required for contemporary extreme metal and heavy rock.
- Fast-Paced Composition: Ideal for songwriters who want mix-ready presets that allow them to focus on creativity rather than spending hours on drum engineering.
- Sample Layering: Use the included WAV and TCI files to reinforce existing recordings or build custom drum tones in a mixing environment.
- Realistic Programming: Use the built-in MIDI library and humanization algorithms to create lifelike performances that avoid the “robotic” feel of standard MIDI drums.
Installation
Eloy Drums is built for Kontakt. To install, activate your serial number via Native Access. Once activated, the library can be installed on up to three computers, though only one instance of Eloy Drums can be used at a time. For those using the TCI files for sample triggering, a full version of Slate Trigger is required.
