Description
Overview
DUY Magic Spectrum is a high-resolution matching equalizer designed to capture the sonic character of one audio source and apply it precisely to another. By utilizing a massive 2048-band automatic equalization system, it allows engineers to match the spectral profile of a target recording with surgical precision, making it an essential tool for professional post-production and music mixing.
Trusted by industry giants including Disney, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros., Paramount, Sony Pictures, Fox, and Skywalker Sound, Magic Spectrum is specifically engineered for high-stakes environments where seamless audio integration is critical.
Key Details
- High-Resolution Matching: Features a 2048-band automatic EQ that analyzes an external reference and applies its spectral curve to your audio.
- Vectorial Combination: Ability to load up to four different spectral responses and combine them vectorially to create a custom, complex sonic character.
- Advanced Editing Mode: A dedicated graphical interface provides direct access to the spectrum, allowing for precise manual manipulation of frequency contents.
- Reference Library: Includes a variety of presets analyzed from world-class recordings and specific masterings for users who do not have a custom reference track.
- Zero-Latency Performance: Native support for Pro Tools HDX DSP cards ensures zero-latency processing during tracking and live sessions.
Use Cases
- ADR Matching: The primary tool for Automated Dialogue Replacement, ensuring that newly recorded dialogue perfectly matches the spectral characteristics of the original production audio.
- Tonal Referencing: Analyze a professional track you admire and apply its “sound character” to your own mix to achieve a similar tonal balance.
- Spectral Sculpting: Use the Advanced mode as a high-precision EQ to remove problematic frequencies or emphasize specific spectral regions with extreme accuracy.
- Hybrid Character Design: Blend multiple reference responses to add specific “character” from different sources into a single audio stream.
Installation
DUY Magic Spectrum is delivered as a software download. Once the installer is run, the plugin is available in multiple formats to suit your DAW. For users with Pro Tools HDX hardware, the plugin can be installed to run natively on DSP cards to offload CPU processing and eliminate latency.
