Description
Overview
The Gibraltar Direct Drive Double Pedal from the 6000 Series is engineered for drummers who demand immediate response and maximum power. By utilizing a direct drive system, this pedal eliminates the lag associated with traditional chains or straps, providing a 1:1 transfer of energy from the foot to the beater for pinpoint accuracy and explosive speed.
Key Details
- Direct Drive Mechanism: Delivers a faster, more consistent response by removing the stretch and friction found in chain-driven systems.
- Matching Slave Pedal: Includes a fully synchronized slave pedal to ensure a balanced feel and consistent strike between both feet.
- Hardened Steel Connector: Features a heavy-duty steel drive shaft that minimizes flex and ensures a rigid, stable connection between pedals.
- Dual Surface Beaters: Equipped with two versatile beaters featuring dual surfaces, allowing you to customize the attack and tone of your bass drum.
- 6000 Series Build: Incorporates all the high-performance features of the 6000 Series single pedal, scaled for double-bass performance.
Use Cases
This pedal is ideal for metal, rock, and fusion drummers who perform rapid-fire double bass rolls and require a high degree of articulation. It is particularly effective for players who find chain-driven pedals too “spongy” and prefer a rigid, mechanical feel for precise timing and high-velocity playing.
Installation
Setup is straightforward and designed for quick deployment. Connect the hardened steel drive shaft to the slave pedal and secure the locking mechanism. Adjust the beater angle and tension to your preference using the integrated adjustment points. Ensure the pedal is placed on a non-slip surface or drum rug to maintain stability during aggressive playing.
Compatibility
This pedal is compatible with all standard bass drum hoops and sizes. The dual-surface beaters provide flexibility for various drum head types, from coated to clear, and different styles of bass drum tuning.
