Description
Overview
PCDJ Dex 3 RE (Red Edition) is a versatile, professional-grade 2-deck DJ mixing software designed to streamline the performance workflow for DJs of all levels. By combining a simplified, less-cluttered user interface with a powerful industry-leading sound engine, Dex 3 RE allows you to focus on your audience rather than the software. Whether you are managing a massive library of 1 million tracks or performing a live set, this software provides the essential tools for high-quality mixing, including beat-grid synchronization, advanced library management, and extensive hardware support.
Key Details
- Performance Controls: Features a traditional 2-deck interface with a mixer and a dedicated “Mix Next” button for rapid cross-fading and seamless transitions.
- Advanced Sync & Timing: Includes Beat-Grid based BPM Sync, quantized automatic looping, and 5 hot-CUE points per track for precise triggering.
- Comprehensive Library Management: A robust browser supports up to 1 million tracks with fast search-as-you-type functionality, library filters for audio vs. karaoke files, and iTunes library import.
- Audio Capabilities: Supports low-latency ASIO and CoreAudio. The software can load entire songs into RAM for instant access and allows recording of mixes to MP3, WAV, or AIFF formats.

- Broad File Support: Compatible with non-DRM formats including MP3, M4A, WAV, AIFF, OGG, CDA, FLAC, and MP3+G.
Use Cases
- Mobile & Event DJing: Use the Auto-Mix and Random Play features to maintain the energy of the room hands-free during breaks.
- Karaoke Hosting: Utilize the specialized library filters and the Request List/Sidelist, which doubles as a karaoke singers list.
- Touch-Screen Performance: Leverage Tablet Mode on 2-in-1 devices to scratch and manipulate effects using touch gestures.
- Professional Recording: Capture your live sets directly within the software to high-quality WAV or AIFF files for distribution or archival.
