Description
Overview
Restore the authentic voice of your percussion instrument with the Latin Percussion 6″ Rawhide Bongo Head. Designed specifically for professional performance and durability, these replacement heads are engineered to deliver the traditional warmth and sharp attack characteristic of high-quality Latin percussion.
Every head is meticulously selected based on texture, thickness, and resiliency, ensuring that your instrument maintains the consistent tonal quality and response expected from the industry-standard LP brand.
Key Details
- Authentic Material: Constructed from natural rawhide to provide a traditional organic sound and superior projection.
- Quality Selection: Each head is hand-picked for specific thickness and resiliency to guarantee a reliable playing surface.
- Precision Fit: Specifically tailored for 6-inch bongo drums within the LP ecosystem.
- Consistent Tone: Engineered to provide the authentic “pop” and resonance required for professional Latin music styles.
Use Cases
- Maintenance & Repair: Ideal for replacing worn, stretched, or punctured heads to bring a vintage or well-used bongo set back to life.
- Tonal Refresh: Use a fresh rawhide head to sharpen the attack and improve the overall brightness of your small bongo drum.
- Professional Touring: Keep as a spare in your percussion bag to ensure your performance is never interrupted by a head failure on stage.
Installation
Replacing your bongo head is a straightforward process. Remove the existing hardware and head from the shell, center the new Latin Percussion Rawhide Head over the bearing edge, and gradually tighten the lugs in a cross-pattern to ensure even tension across the skin. Because rawhide is a natural material, it may require a short period of “settling” and fine-tuning to reach your desired pitch.
Compatibility
- Supported Instruments: Specifically designed to fit Latin Percussion (LP) 6″ Bongos.
- Manufacturer Note: This head is proprietary to LP specifications and does not fit drums from other manufacturers.
