Description
Overview
The Gibraltar Cloth Snare Mounting Tape provides a professional, secure solution for mounting snare drums while prioritizing the instrument’s natural acoustic properties. Designed as a superior alternative to traditional nylon cords, this cloth tape ensures your snare remains stable during performance without compromising the resonance of the shell.
Key Details
- Natural Response: Specifically engineered to promote a natural snare response, ensuring the drum breathes and vibrates as intended.
- Enhanced Durability: Constructed from high-quality cloth that is significantly more durable and resistant to wear than standard nylon cord.
- Non-Choking Design: The material and application method ensure the tape does not “choke” the drum, preserving the full tonal range and sustain of the instrument.
- Quantity: Supplied as a set of 4 pieces for multiple applications or replacements.
Use Cases
- Studio Recording: Ideal for engineers and drummers who need a secure mount that doesn’t introduce unwanted dampening or “choking” sounds into the microphone.
- Live Performance: Perfect for touring drummers who require a more durable mounting solution than nylon to withstand the rigors of frequent setup and teardown.
- Custom Percussion Rigs: Useful for mounting snares in non-traditional configurations where standard hardware may be too bulky or restrictive.
Installation
Application is straightforward: wrap the cloth tape securely around the snare shell and the mounting hardware. Because the material is cloth-based, it provides a grip that prevents slipping while remaining flexible enough to avoid putting undue pressure on the drum’s bearing edges or shell integrity.
Compatibility
This mounting tape is universally compatible with most standard snare drums and percussion instruments. It is designed to work with various mounting hardware systems where a flexible, non-invasive binding is required.
