Product Overview

Overview

The Choptones Fender Concerto 210 CTS SuperCabinet IR Library is a professional-grade impulse response collection designed to recreate the iconic sound of a Fender Concert 2×10 cabinet. Featuring vintage Fender CTS 10″ speakers, this library captures the signature “chime” and upper-mid punch characteristic of early 80s amp setups. Whether you are dialing in a Bassman or any vintage Fender-style amplifier, this library provides the authentic acoustic response of a straight-front, open-back solid wood cabinet.

To ensure absolute precision, these captures were performed using a motorized mic stand, providing consistent and repeatable measurements. With over 300 IRs, this library offers an exhaustive range of sonic textures and placement options for the discerning producer.

What Stands Out

Key Details

  • Cabinet Profile: Fender Concert 2×10, straight front, open back, solid wood construction (early 80s era).
  • Speaker Specifications: Vintage Fender CTS 10″ speakers known for high-end chime and punchy upper-mids.
  • Extensive Capture Set: Over 300 total IRs created using 12 different microphones.
  • Precision Positioning: Each microphone was captured across 8 to 16 positions, including four horizontal placements (Cap, Cap Edge, Cone, and Cone Edge) and two different distances.
  • Axis Variation: Select microphones include off-axis captures (45 degrees) for added depth and spatial variety.
  • Premium Signal Chain: All measurement sets were recorded through two distinct high-end preamps: a Neve 1073 and a German preamp.
Best For

Use Cases

  • Vintage Tone Recreation: Ideal for guitarists and producers seeking the authentic “glassy” top end and punch of a vintage 2×10 Fender setup.
  • Professional Mixing: Perfect for mixing engineers who need a wide variety of mic positions and preamp colors to fit a guitar track into a dense arrangement.
  • Studio Production: A reliable tool for composing and sound design where repeatable, high-fidelity cabinet emulation is required without the need for physical mic placement.
