Product Overview

Overview

The Choptones Bogna 412 V30 SuperCabinet IR Library is a professional-grade impulse response collection designed to bring the massive, authoritative sound of a Bogner 4×12 cabinet into your digital workflow. This library captures a straight-front, closed-back cabinet loaded with a combination of Celestion Vintage 30 and T75 speakers, delivering the “big and fat” guitar tones essential for high-gain overdrive and powerful rock productions.

To ensure absolute precision, Choptones utilized a motorized mic stand for consistent measurements. The library features an extensive systematic capture involving 11 different microphones, multiple positions, and two distinct high-end mic preamps, resulting in over 300 high-resolution IRs. Note: This library requires Overloud SuperCabinet or TH-U Premium to operate.

What Stands Out

Key Details

  • Comprehensive Capture: Over 300 IRs created using 11 different microphones with 8 to 16 positions per mic.
  • Premium Speaker Blend: Combines the rich mid-range and detailed highs of Celestion V30s with the power-handling and warm lows of the Celestion T75.
  • Precision Positioning: Every microphone was captured at four horizontal positions (Cap, Cap Edge, Cone, and Cone Edge) and two different distances.
  • Advanced Variations: Includes off-axis captures (45 degrees) for specific microphones to provide more tonal depth.
  • High-End Signal Chain: All measurement sets were recorded through two different preamps: a Neve 1073 and a specialized German preamp.
  • Included Microphone Models:
    • Audio Technica 2035
    • Beyerdynamic M160
    • Electrovoice RE20
    • Sennheiser MD21, MD421, and MD441
  • SuperCabinet Integration: Allows for graphical IR browsing, blending multiple IRs for huge stereo tones, and utilizing a unique Multiband mode to compose custom cabinet responses.
  • Flexible Export: Crafted IRs can be exported in .wav format for use with other hardware modelers and software IR loaders.
Best For

Use Cases

  • High-Gain Production: Ideal for modern rock and metal tracks requiring the thick, saturated low-end and aggressive mids of a Bogner 4×12.
  • Custom Tone Shaping: Perfect for producers who need to blend multiple microphone positions to create a unique “signature” cabinet sound.
  • Stereo Widening: Use the blending capabilities of SuperCabinet to create massive, wide stereo guitar walls for professional mixes.
  • Hybrid Workflows: Export custom-crafted .wav IRs to use in hardware amp modelers for live performance consistency.
