Product Overview

Overview

The Choptones Violet Night Rig Library for TH-U is a professional-grade collection of 123 high-gain rigs designed to recreate the powerhouse sound of an authentic Driftwood Purple Nightmare head equipped with 6L6 power tubes. Engineered for the ultimate metal tone, this library features a built-in screamer and a highly dynamic response that allows chords to sustain indefinitely while remaining sensitive to the guitar’s volume knob.

Utilizing Overloud’s proprietary capturing technology, Violet Night goes beyond simple modeling. It captures the entire signal chain—including the nonlinear response of the amplifier, the specific cabinet resonance, microphone placement, preamplifier characteristics, and the acoustic properties of the room—to deliver a studio-accurate performance within the TH-U environment.

What Stands Out

Key Details

  • Comprehensive Rig Collection: Includes 123 meticulously crafted rigs based on real-world hardware setups.
  • Authentic Tone Capture: Recreates the Driftwood Purple Nightmare head with 6L6 power tubes for a straightforward, dynamic metal voice.
  • TH-U Essentials Included: Every library comes with a license for TH-U Essentials, providing the Rig Player and a foundational set of amps, cabs, and effects.
  • Advanced Rig Player: Integrated into TH-U, the Rig Player reproduces every nuance of the sampled rigs and allows users to combine models from different setups.
Best For

Use Cases

  • Modern Metal Production: Ideal for producers and guitarists needing a thick, aggressive, and polished high-gain tone for recording and mixing.
  • Dynamic Performance: Perfect for players who rely on their guitar’s volume knob to clean up their signal without losing the core character of the amp.
  • Studio-Quality Tracking: Provides an immediate “finished” sound by utilizing captures of world-class cabinets and microphones, reducing the need for extensive post-processing.
