Product Overview

Overview

The Choptones Soldier Deca is a comprehensive expansion library for Overloud TH-U, meticulously designed to recreate the legendary sound of the Soldano Decatone. Recognized as the most complete Soldano Decatone capture available, this library provides guitarists and producers with an expansive palette of 196 professional rigs, offering unparalleled versatility and authentic high-gain saturation.

What Stands Out

Key Details

This library utilizes high-end capture technology to translate the complex harmonics and response of the Decatone into the TH-U environment. The rigs are built upon a massive array of world-class cabinets and microphones to ensure studio-grade results.

  • Cabinet Selection: Includes EVH 5150III 4×12 (Celestion G12EVH), Engl 4×12 (Celestion V60), Mesa Boogie 4×12 (V30, G12EVH, V-Type, G12V Marshall Vintage, Lynchback), Marshall 4×12 (G12M, G12T75), Mills Afterburner 4×12 (V30), Hughes & Kettner 4×12 (G12M), and both Marshall and Mesa Boogie 2×12 (V30) options.
  • Microphone Array: Captured using industry standards including Royer R121 and R122, Shure SM57, SM7, and Modified SM57, Sennheiser MD421, MD409, MD21, Neumann U87, KM84, and Beyerdynamic M160 and M88.
  • Integrated Signal Chain: Features specialized captures including the Mesa Flux Drive and Mesa Grid Slammer for added tonal shaping.
Best For

Use Cases

  • High-Gain Production: Ideal for modern metal, hard rock, and fusion projects requiring the precise, aggressive punch of a Soldano-style amplifier.
  • Professional Mixing: Provides a “finished” studio sound immediately, reducing the need for extensive EQ and post-processing.
  • Sound Design: Perfect for producers needing a wide variety of preamp and cabinet combinations to find the exact sonic footprint for a specific track.
Setup Notes

Installation

The Soldier Deca is an expansion library and requires a compatible version of TH-U to operate. After purchase, follow the publisher’s instructions for downloading the library files and authorizing the license. Once installed, the rigs can be accessed and scanned within your DAW or the TH-U standalone application.
