Overview
The Tycoon Percussion Cajon-mounted Castanet Block is a professional percussion accessory designed to expand the sonic palette of your cajon. By integrating the sharp, rhythmic snap of castanets directly onto your instrument, this block allows percussionists to execute complex polyrhythms and add high-frequency accents without needing to switch instruments or hold additional handheld percussion.
Key Details
- Durable Construction: Built for reliability and consistent tone during live performances and studio recording.
- Sleek Aesthetics: Features a professional Black Powder-Coated Finish that blends seamlessly with most cajon designs.
- Compact Profile: Designed as a “Small” edition to ensure it provides maximum sound without obstructing the player’s movement or hand positioning.
- Precision Dimensions: Measures 4.75″ in length and 4.25″ in width with a slim 0.09″ height profile.
Use Cases
- Flamenco & Latin Fusion: Perfect for adding traditional Spanish castanet sounds to modern cajon grooves.
- Acoustic Ensembles: Ideal for singer-songwriters or unplugged bands needing a versatile, all-in-one percussion station.
- Rhythmic Layering: Use the block to provide a contrasting high-end “click” against the deep bass and mid-range tones of the cajon shell.
Installation
This castanet block is designed for mounting directly to the body of a cajon. Installation typically involves securing the block to the top or side of the instrument where it is easily accessible to the player’s hands during performance. Due to its lightweight design (0.23 lbs), it adds minimal mass to the instrument, ensuring the natural resonance of the cajon is not dampened.
Compatibility
Designed for use with standard cajons. While optimized for Tycoon Percussion instruments, the universal nature of the block allows it to be mounted on most wooden box drums provided there is a suitable flat surface for attachment.
