Product Overview

Overview

The Brit 1960 4×12 V30 SuperCabinet IR Library by Overloud is a professional-grade impulse response collection designed to recreate the legendary sound of a Marshall 1960 A 4×12 cabinet equipped with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. This library provides a systematic and extensive capture of one of the most iconic guitar speaker combinations in history, offering the warm low-end, rich mid-range, and detailed top-end essential for modern rock tones.

Created in collaboration with Choptones, this library utilizes a motorized mic stand to ensure absolute consistency across all measurements. With over 300 IRs, users can precisely dial in their tone by selecting from a vast array of microphone choices, positions, and preamp colorations.

What Stands Out

Key Details

  • Authentic Hardware Capture: Based on a slanted-front, closed-back Marshall 1960 A 4×12 cabinet constructed from solid Birch plywood.
  • Premium Speaker Emulation: Features the Celestion Vintage 30, renowned for its ability to handle high power and overdrive.
  • Massive IR Collection: Over 300 IRs derived from 12 different microphones, with 8 to 16 positions per microphone.
  • Precision Positioning: Every microphone was captured at four horizontal positions (Cap, Cap Edge, Cone, and Cone Edge) and two different distances.
  • Advanced Phase & Axis: Includes off-axis captures (45 degrees) for specific microphones to add depth and realism.
  • Dual Preamp Coloration: All measurement sets were recorded through two distinct high-end preamps: a Neve 1073 and a German preamp.
  • Included Microphone Selection:
    • Audio Technica 2035
    • Beyerdynamic M160
    • Electrovoice RE20
    • Sennheiser MD21
    • Sennheiser MD421
    • Sennheiser MD441
Best For

Use Cases

  • Modern Rock Production: Ideal for high-gain rhythms and searing leads that require the punch and mid-range focus of a V30-loaded 4×12.
  • Custom Tone Shaping: Use the SuperCabinet interface to blend multiple IRs, creating massive, custom stereo guitar tones.
  • Hybrid Workflows: Craft a unique cabinet tone using Multiband mode and export the result as a .wav file for use in hardware modelers or other software IR loaders.
  • Consistent Studio Results: Leverage the motorized mic stand captures to switch between different mic positions without losing the core character of the cabinet.
Setup Notes

Installation

This product is a digital IR library. To utilize these captures, TH-U Premium or the SuperCabinet plugin is required. Once the host software is installed, the library can be loaded to allow for graphical browsing, blending, and editing of the IRs.
