The T-RackS Black 76 Limiting Amplifier by IK Multimedia is a precision-engineered emulation of one of the most legendary FET-based compressors in recording history. Designed for producers and engineers who require aggressive peak control and iconic sonic character, this plugin delivers the lightning-fast attack and punchy response necessary to make vocals, drums, and bass sit perfectly in a professional mix.
As part of the acclaimed T-RackS ecosystem, the Black 76 combines authentic analog warmth with the flexibility of a digital workflow, allowing you to shape transients and add harmonic saturation with surgical accuracy.
Key Details
- FET-Based Compression: Delivers the lightning-fast attack and release times characteristic of the classic “Blackface” limiting amplifiers.

- Harmonic Saturation: Adds a subtle, pleasing analog grit that helps tracks cut through dense arrangements.
- T-RackS Integration: Operates as a standalone plugin or as part of the comprehensive T-RackS mixing and mastering suite.
Use Cases
- Vocal Leveling: Taming aggressive peaks in rap or rock vocals to create a “pinned” and professional sound.
- Drum Punch: Adding snap and weight to snare drums and room mics for a more impactful rhythmic foundation.
- Bass Definition: Tightening low-end transients to ensure the bass remains audible and consistent across the entire track.
