Product Overview

Overview

The BHS Sold Rig Library is a specialized expansion for Overloud TH-U, meticulously crafted by Big Hairy Sounds to recreate the iconic guitar tones of the ’80s and ’90s. This library focuses on the legendary sound of Soldano-style amplifiers, providing the high-gain precision and harmonic richness associated with virtuosos such as Steve Lukather, Lynch, Moore, Knopfler, and Michael Landau.

Beyond simple presets, this library provides a massive collection of captured rigs and a dedicated modulation tool, allowing guitarists to achieve professional, studio-grade tones that define the era of shred and session excellence.

What Stands Out

Key Details

  • Extensive Rig Collection: Includes 179 Rigs and 75 patches specifically tailored to recreate authentic ’80s and ’90s studio and stage setups.
  • Sold88 X88r Tones: High-fidelity captures created using a diverse array of speakers, microphones, and cabinets to ensure a wide variety of “Sold” style textures.
  • Hybrid Amp Modeling: Features a unique combination consisting of a Hiwatt DR front end paired with an SLO power section. This 100-watt configuration utilizes 5881/6L6 tubes and links the Normal and Bright channels to a single input, mirroring the specific setup used by David Gilmour.
  • Exclusive Micropitch Pedal: Adds a brand new modulation pedal to TH-U. The Micropitch reproduces the classic Eventide-style chorusing effect by detuning one channel against another via a pitch shifter, an essential tool for authentic period-correct modulation.
Best For

Use Cases

  • Period-Correct Production: Ideal for producers and composers recreating the polished, high-gain guitar sounds of the late 20th century.
  • Session Guitar Work: Perfect for guitarists needing the specific “session ace” tones of Michael Landau or Steve Lukather for studio recordings.
  • Live Performance: Use as a reliable, consistent amp simulation for live gigs where the Soldano sound is required without the weight of a physical stack.
  • Sound Design: Utilizing the Micropitch pedal to add depth and width to guitar tracks in a way that traditional chorus pedals cannot.
Setup Notes

Installation

This product is delivered as a Download / Digital License. After purchase, follow the publisher’s instructions to download the library and authorize your license.

The software utilizes a simple one-click authorization procedure that does not require a physical hardware key. Once installed, the rigs and the Micropitch pedal will be available within the TH-U interface. Ensure your DAW is scanned for new plugins to recognize the updated library components.
