Description

Product Overview

Overview

The BHS METLX TH-U Rig Library is a specialized expansion for Overloud’s TH-U, meticulously crafted by Big Hairy Sounds to recreate the legendary high-gain guitar tones of the 1980s and 90s. This library focuses on the aggressive, polished sounds associated with guitar icons such as Zakk Wylde, Warren DiMartini, and Paul Gilbert.

At the heart of this collection are high-fidelity captures of the Metaltronix GP-1000 and SP-1000 rack preamps and power amps, alongside the M-1000 amplifier. To provide a complete tonal palette, the library also integrates essential Marshall JCM800 and Silver Jubilee captures, ensuring users have the necessary tools to build authentic hard rock and metal rigs.

What Stands Out

Key Details

  • Extensive Rig Collection: Includes 70 professionally captured Rigs and 31 curated presets designed for immediate use in hard rock and metal productions.
  • Metaltronix M-1000: Features the high-gain evolution of modded British heads, serving as a “secret weapon” for late 80s metal tones.
  • Complementary Amps: Includes Marshall JCM800 and Silver Jubilee captures to round out the Zakk Wylde-style sonic signature.
  • Symphonic 90 Effect: Adds a brand new modulation rack effect to TH-U that reproduces the iconic Yamaha-style chorusing. This “soupy” stereo chorus is essential for recreating the guitar sounds on Ozzy Osbourne’s No Rest for the Wicked and No More Tears, as well as the bass tones found on Nirvana’s Nevermind.
Best For

Use Cases

  • Period-Correct Production: Ideal for producers and guitarists aiming for the specific high-gain, rack-processed sheen of late 80s and early 90s metal.
  • Zakk Wylde Style Tones: Perfect for achieving the massive, chorused lead and rhythm sounds characteristic of the Wylde era.
  • Modern Metal Layering: Use the high-gain Metaltronix captures to add aggressive mid-range punch and saturation to modern metal mixes.
  • Vintage Bass Textures: Utilize the Symphonic 90 effect to create swirling, modulated bass lines for grunge or alternative rock projects.
Setup Notes
