Product Overview

Overview

The BHS LA River Rig Library is a specialized expansion for the Overloud TH-U platform, meticulously crafted by Big Hairy Sounds. This library is designed to transport your guitar tone back to the high-gain glory of the 80s and 90s, specifically recreating the iconic sounds associated with artists such as Skid Row, John Sykes, and Saigon Kick.

At the heart of this collection is the legendary Rivera TBR-1 SL amplifier. By capturing the unique saturation and response of this hardware, BHS provides guitarists with a professional-grade toolkit for achieving authentic “hair metal” and hard rock textures directly within their DAW.

What Stands Out

Key Details

  • Comprehensive Rig Collection: Includes 43 high-fidelity Rigs captured from the Rivera TBR-1 SL amplifier.
  • Curated Preset Patches: Features 25 dedicated patches specifically engineered to recreate famous album guitar tones from the early 80s through the late 90s.
  • Premium Signal Chain: All captures were recorded using a classic Marshall 1960B cabinet equipped with Greenback and V30 speakers, processed through professional API preamps for maximum clarity and punch.
  • Authentic Era Tones: Specifically tuned to deliver the signature sustain, grit, and presence of the era’s most influential rock records.
Best For

Use Cases

  • Period-Correct Production: Ideal for producers and songwriters recreating the sonic aesthetic of 80s arena rock or 90s hard rock.
  • Lead Guitar Work: Perfect for searing, liquid solos that require the specific compression and harmonic content of a Rivera-style amplifier.
  • High-Gain Rhythm Tracks: Use the captured V30 and Greenback speaker blends to create thick, aggressive rhythm walls for heavy rock compositions.
