Description

Product Overview

Overview

The BHS Iconic 2 – Rock Gods is a specialized Rig Library for Overloud TH-U, meticulously designed by Michael Nielsen to deliver the definitive sounds of 80s Hard Rock. As the second installment in the “Iconic” series from Big Hairy Sounds, this library provides guitarists and producers with the tools to recreate the most influential tones of the era using high-fidelity amp capturing technology.

Unlike standard modeling, these rigs are created using Overloud’s proprietary capturing technology, which records the entire signal chain. This includes the nonlinear and dynamic response of the amplifier, the specific cabinet, microphone placement, the mic preamplifier, and the natural room acoustics, ensuring a professional, studio-grade sound immediately upon loading.

What Stands Out

Key Details

  • Extensive Patch Library: Includes 43 high-quality patches inspired by the most influential artists of the Hard Rock era.
  • Captured Legendary Hardware: Rigs are based on iconic gear, including the Marshall 1959 Superlead, Marshall JCM800, Marshall Silver Jubilee, and the Gallien-Krueger 250ML.
  • Artist-Inspired Tones: Specifically tuned to emulate the signature sounds of rock icons such as Angus Young (AC/DC), Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), and C.C. DeVille (Poison).
  • Advanced Rig Player: Integrated into TH-U, the Rig Player reproduces every nuance of the sampled rigs and allows users to combine models from different setups for custom tone shaping.
Best For

Use Cases

  • Studio Production: Quickly achieve authentic 80s Hard Rock guitar tracks without the need for massive amplifier stacks and complex microphone setups.
  • Live Performance: Use the captured rigs within TH-U to bring consistent, high-gain “Rock God” tones to the stage via a laptop or plugin host.
  • Tone Exploration: Experiment with the specific responses of vintage Marshall and Gallien-Krueger rigs to find the perfect balance of grit and sustain for lead or rhythm parts.
Setup Notes
