Description

Product Overview

Overview

The BHS Iconic 1 – Hair Metal Rig Library is a specialized expansion for Overloud TH-U, meticulously designed by Michael Nielsen to recreate the high-gain, polished, and aggressive guitar tones of the Hair Metal era. Moving beyond simple modeling, this library utilizes Overloud’s proprietary capturing technology to provide comprehensive sonic snapshots of entire signal chains.

By capturing the nonlinear and dynamic responses of the amplifier, cabinet, microphones, and room acoustics, BHS Iconic 1 delivers an authentic, studio-ready sound. It provides a massive toolkit of captured rigs and artist-inspired patches, allowing guitarists to instantly access the legendary saturation and sustain associated with the genre’s most famous players.

What Stands Out

Key Details

  • Comprehensive Content: Includes 46 captured rigs and 46 dedicated artist patches for immediate high-gain production.
  • Extensive Gear Captures: Features 10 Amps and Preamps captured from legendary hardware, including:

    — Marshall: JMP-1, JCM800, Silver Jubilee, and 1959 Superlead

    — Specialized Gear: Rockman XPR100, Kitty Hawk Quattro, and Mike Morin Preamp
  • Artist-Specific Tones: Presets specifically designed to emulate the tones of iconic artists such as Ozzy Osbourne / Zakk Wylde and Winger / Reb Beach.
  • Advanced Rig Player: Integrated into TH-U, the Rig Player reproduces every nuance of the sampled rigs and allows for the combination of different setup models.
Best For

Use Cases

  • Genre-Specific Production: Ideal for producers and songwriters creating 80s-style glam metal, hard rock, or shred-heavy compositions.
  • Live Performance: Use the captured rigs as a reliable, consistent amp replacement for live shows, eliminating the need for heavy hardware.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Quickly audition high-end “wall of sound” tones using the artist patches to find the right vibe for a track without extensive tweaking.
Setup Notes

Installation

This product is a Rig Library expansion. To use these sounds, you must have a compatible version of the TH-U software installed on your system. Once the library is added, the rigs and patches are accessed via the integrated Rig Player within the TH-U interface.

Authorization is handled via a simple one-click software procedure. You may authorize the software on up to three computers and one USB stick; no physical hardware dongle is required.
