Description
Overview
The Remo Pinstripe Bass Drumhead in Ebony is a professional-grade replacement head designed for drummers who require a controlled, punchy low-end response. Specifically engineered for 26″ bass drums, this head utilizes a dual-ply construction to provide enhanced durability and a focused tone, eliminating the excessive overtones often found in single-ply heads.
Key Details
- Dual-Ply Construction: Features two plies of Mylar fused together to increase strength and provide a warmer, more controlled sound.
- Pinstripe Design: The signature pinstripe dampening rings are integrated into the head to reduce unwanted harmonics and increase attack.
- Ebony Finish: A sleek, professional black aesthetic that complements any drum kit while providing a consistent tonal response.
- Precision Fit: Specifically manufactured for a 26″ diameter bass drum to ensure a secure seal and optimal tension.
Use Cases
- Rock and Pop Performance: Ideal for genres requiring a “thump” with a clear attack and minimal sustain.
- Studio Recording: The built-in dampening makes this head easier to mic, reducing the need for excessive internal muffling.
- Heavy Hitting: The reinforced dual-ply build is suited for drummers who play with high velocity and need a head that resists punctures.
Installation
To install the Remo Pinstripe head, remove the existing head and clear any debris from the drum bearing edge. Place the new Ebony head over the shell, ensuring it is centered. Insert the tension rods and tighten them in a cross-pattern (star pattern) to ensure even pressure across the hoop. Tune to your preferred pitch, noting that the Pinstripe design naturally favors a deeper, more focused tone.
