Overview
The Remo Pinstripe Bass Drumhead in Ebony is a professional-grade replacement head designed for drummers who require a focused, punchy sound with reduced sustain. Featuring a 22″ diameter, this head utilizes Remo’s legendary Pinstripe construction to provide a durable playing surface that delivers a deep, warm tone with a controlled attack, making it an ideal choice for a wide variety of musical genres.
Key Details
- Pinstripe Construction: Features two plies of Mylar tuned to different tensions, creating a dampened effect that eliminates unwanted overtones.
- Ebony Finish: A sleek, professional black aesthetic that complements any kit while providing a consistent tonal response.
- Enhanced Durability: Built to withstand heavy hitting, ensuring long-term reliability during intense live performances and studio sessions.
- Focused Attack: Engineered to provide a “thump” with a shorter decay, allowing the bass drum to sit cleanly in a mix.
Use Cases
- Rock and Pop: Perfect for genres requiring a heavy, driving kick drum sound with minimal ringing.
- Studio Recording: Ideal for engineers and drummers who want a pre-dampened sound, reducing the need for excessive internal muffling or pillows.
- Live Performance: Great for loud stages where controlling the low-end resonance is critical to preventing feedback and muddy sound.
Installation
To install the Remo Pinstripe Bass Drumhead, remove the existing head and clear any debris from the drum bearing edge. Place the new 22″ Ebony head over the shell, ensuring it is centered. Insert the tension rods and tighten them in a cross-pattern (star pattern) to ensure even pressure across the head. Tune to your preferred tension to achieve the desired punch and depth.
Compatibility
- Drum Type: Designed for bass drums with a 22″ shell diameter.
- Hardware: Compatible with standard bass drum hoops and tension lug systems.
