Description
The Avid Pro Tools MTRX 8 Mic/Line Pristine AD Card expands a Pro Tools | MTRX or MTRX II system with eight premium mic/line inputs, eight remotely controlled microphone preamps, and high-resolution DAD analog-to-digital conversion. It is designed for transparent multichannel tracking, talkback, and professional music or post-production workflows.
Eight Pristine Mic/Line Inputs
Each input uses relay-based gain circuitry to keep the analog signal path short and clean. Input gain is adjustable from -18 dB to +70 dB in precise 0.1 dB steps, with ±0.25 dB accuracy. Maximum input level is adjustable from +9 dBu to +30 dBu, also in 0.1 dB steps.
High-Resolution DAD Conversion
The card supports PCM/DXD sample rates from 44.1 kHz through 384 kHz at 24-bit resolution, plus DSD64 and DSD128. Available formats and sample rates depend on the chassis, digital connection, and host software. Its analog input stage delivers greater than 123 dB(A) dynamic range, THD+N below -117 dB(A) at -3 dBFS, crosstalk below -120 dB, and differential input impedance above 10 kΩ.
Remote Control and Flexible MTRX Expansion
Microphone preamp gain and 48 V phantom power can be controlled remotely through DADman; compatible Pro Tools PRE and EUCON workflows require configuration. The card occupies one internal expansion slot and connects eight balanced analog inputs through a female 25-pin D-sub connector using the Tascam pinout. The original MTRX supports up to six analog cards for 48 analog channels; MTRX II supports up to eight analog cards for 64 analog channels, depending on the installed card combination.
