Description
Overview
Attack 3 is the next evolution of one of Waldorf Music’s most iconic and longest-running instruments. A true classic reborn, this percussion synthesizer redefines modern rhythm production by blending the unmistakable spirit of 1980s analogue drum machines and 1990s electronic club sounds with a future-ready synthesis engine. Designed for producers who demand total control, Attack 3 allows you to shape the drum sounds of the next decade, moving seamlessly from punchy, aggressive kicks to complex melodic percussion.
Key Details
- Analogue-Style Synthesis: A mighty engine delivering 24 individual sounds per kit, with 12 sounds capable of being played polyphonically as pitched instruments.
- Advanced Oscillator Section: Features refined precision with accurate phase control for synthetic waveforms and expanded sampling capabilities.
- Supercharged Filter Section: Includes 24 dB filters, positive and negative comb filters, and sample-rate reduction for diverse sonic textures.
- Rich Drive Character: Six distinct drive types—Clip, Transistor, Diode, Crunch, Pickup, and Overdrive—to add grit, weight, and harmonic saturation.
- Precision Modulation: Two advanced envelopes per sound featuring a modern multi-stage ADBDSR mode with adjustable curves; all envelope times and levels are now fully modulatable.
- Modern Workflow: A completely redesigned, scalable user interface that adapts to any screen size, supported by dedicated browsers for kits, sounds, samples, and MIDI mappings.
Use Cases
- Electronic Music Production: Create driving, club-ready percussion that captures the energy of the 90s while maintaining modern high-fidelity standards.
- Sound Design: Use the “synthesis first” philosophy to build unique, organic, or surgical percussion sounds from scratch rather than relying on static samples.
- Melodic Percussion: Utilize the 12 polyphonic pitched sounds to create rhythmic melodies and tonal percussion loops.
- Live Performance: Leverage enhanced MIDI Learn with definable minimum and maximum parameter ranges for highly expressive, real-time control.
